Well its been a crazy couple weeks. I got the great opportunity to drive back to chicago with a neighbor. My grandpa had fallen and broke his hip and I got the blessing to visit him in the hospital and chat with him for awhile. I got to tell him that I loved him and all about my beautiful baby daughter... with which he responded "You have a daughter?? You make me feel like I am 105". I laughed and said well you're pretty darn close (since he would be turning 97 this july). I got to laugh with my grandpa and say goodbye before he passed away last monday. What an amazing man and will truly be missed. Unfortunately Allie couldn't meet him cause they wouldn't allow babies in the part of the hospital my grandpa was in. But I feel very fortunate that I got to say goodbye to a wonderful grandfather. While we were there we got to visit with grandma and gramps and enjoy a couple days at the lake house. And yes that is my friends hair covering Allie's head.. we were trying to imagine what Allie would look like with hair since she is what we would call um.... Bald. She is loving sitting up in the sink for baths and attempting to drink every ounce of water. We just started her on solids last wednesday and she seems to be loving it. She already is wanting to feed herself. Allie is turning into such an amazing little girl. We are enjoying every stage this lady is going through. She is now sitting up all on her own and loving it. How time flies. Her smile seems to light up everyones day and she loves doing it :)
We made our first trip with Allie out to the lake on our neighbors boat and she loved it. She spent the whole day on the water laughing and loving the movement of the boat. We got to float in the tube and splash the water. She enjoyed the sun and so did we! Everything else around here is pretty much the same just enjoying the summer. We are heading up to Nebraska on thursday for a family reunion so it should be fun for Allie to meet the whole family and see how stinkin cute allie is :) Love to all.
